It is officially spring in the northern hemisphere according to astronomy! The vernal equinox with the length of day and night being nearly equal has arrived. Winter still lingers around somewhat and the nights are still frosty up here. While the tulips are not out yet, higher daytime temperatures have turned snow into rain so that we have some rather muddy spots here and there, but there is a lot more sunshine too. And today is a gorgeous day! Welcome spring and I hope you’re here to stay!

Have a sham-rockin’ day! And don’t forget you don’t have to get too deep into that glass in order to drown the shamrock, just remember to throw it (the shamrock, not the glass…) over your left shoulder after the toast… Lá ‘le Pádraig!

PANTONE 16-4132, one of Pantone’s colors from the “Spring 2018 Top 12 Color Palette”, is almost as beautiful as the real thing: a wonderful clear blue spring sky. When you lift your eyes up there into the sky, you see that there is not only one kind of Blue but a multitude of different shades. So get out there and enjoy spring!

It is finally spring in the northern hemisphere! However, in the Rockies this time of year, spring is more a symbolic event and the meteorological season more a convention than reality. There is still snow on the ground, but at least temperatures did rise and days and nights are not as cold anymore as just a little while ago. While meteorological spring starts on March 1, astronomical spring is still 20 days away with the vernal equinox marking the day when daytime and nighttime is about the same length. Be it as it may, I look forward to spring!
